Angel Food Ministries - Food Co-op (Not Organic)

Jenn R. wanted to share this with you girls...

Hey ladies, this website was just brought to my attention this week and it sounds pretty cool. There are several host churches in central Florida, two of which are right here in Clermont. And, they have one in Winter Garden as well as Ocoee. Anyhoo, you can order food monthly at a super discounted rate, because Angel Food Ministries buys specific items directly from the manufacturer at a super discounted rate and passes the saving on to any/all families in need of some economic relief. Everyone qualifies, there are no applications, etc. We're going to try it in April, so I can't vouch for the food, but according to the website, it's all fresh (no expired, past dated) restaurant grade food items. The meat is frozen, no doubt. They post the monthly menus online, so you can check it out to see if it jives with your families menu. There are also bonus packages that you can purchase in addition to the main package. These are meats, seafood, fruits, veges, etc. You can purchase as many or as few packages as you like. The main package is $30 for about $65 worth of food.

April Info: The order deadline for April is the 13th with a food pick-up scheduled on April 25th (CMW International House, Inc., Four Corners 10am-12pm; Faith Harvest Church, Clermont 11:00am-12:30pm). The Four Corners location you can order online (deadline April 12th). However, the Clermont location does not offer this option just yet.

Check out the website for more details and to answer any questions you have. Even if it's not for your family, familiarize yourself with it as you may know someone or meet someone that's struggling to make ends meet, this could be exactly what they need. The main package is said to have enough food to feed a family of 4 for a week. And, they take food stamps. They also have senior packages that have complete meals already prepared in them as well as allergen free packages.
